Tramuto Foundation Recognizes Co-Founder, Jeffrey Porter Changes Name to TramutoPorter Foundation

December 1, 2021, Ogunquit ME Donato Tramuto, founder of the Tramuto Foundation announces a formal name change to TramutoPorter Foundation, reflecting the selfless commitment of Jeff Porter to the foundation and the vision of making a more compassionate and kinder world.

The Foundation was founded in 2001 by Donato Tramuto and Jeffrey Porter following the tragic loss of dear friends on September 11. The vision of the TramutoPorter Foundation has always been to take the time to deeply hear the stories of those in need and tune our attention to the challenges they face by moving from empathy to action. For the past 20 years, they have provided financial assistance to nearly 100 organizations and scores of individuals across the globe funding each year 2-4 college scholarships as well as entering into partnerships with organizations whose vision it is to make the world more just and fair.

“The name change to the TramutoPorter Foundation is a clear recognition of the commitment and dedication from my life partner, Jeff Porter,” stated Tramuto. “We are both excited and energized by the many possibilities to build upon the last two decades of advancing a more compassionate and kinder world.”

“I am so proud of the many accomplishments of the foundation, including support to local AIDS service organizations, national and international human rights organizations and colleges and universities throughout the United States,” said Porter. “I believe the scholarship and mentoring programs provided by the Foundation is what will be its legacy and help meet its goal of helping to make the world more compassionate and kinder. I am so proud to be a part of this and to focus even more of my attention here moving forward.”

“The Foundation has tallied a major milestone with this name change and we are eager to build upon the work that has helped nearly a hundred students pursue their dreams of education as well as the assistance that has been provided to many organizations whose goal it is to make the world a more inclusive place,” continued Tramuto.

Porter spent the majority of his career in human resources for corporations including Aprisma Management Technologies, Caremark, Eaton Corporation, and The Timberland Company, where he received national recognition for designing and implementing progressive benefit programs. Porter moved into the hospitality industry in 2004, owning, running and selling several restaurants in Ogunquit, Maine.

Porter has served on the Board of the Frannie Peabody Center, Maine’s largest AIDS Service Organization from November 2010 until September 2019, including as President of the Board from 2014 until 2019. He has been active in Share Our Strength, Maine and No Kid Hungry. Jeff believes deeply in their goal of ending child hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need, every day.
